SHAWNMACDEV assists with migration and integration of existing systems to the Apple OS and writes custom script or code for businesses and individuals that need it.

SHAWNMACDEV started as a project for me to return to my programming roots. At 16, I began programming back in the day on an Apple II C, learning PASCAL while proofreading a book on the subject before I eventually went on to become a Network Administrator based primarily in the Novell and then Microsoft world.

The explosion of the Apple products such as the iPhone, iPad, Macbook Air and their quick adoption into homes, businesses and home businesses generates many question to me daily about the Apple Operating Systems, OS X and iOS and how to use them with existing computer and migration from one to the other.

Another commonly asked question is “ How can I get my old DOS or Windows based program to run on my Mac or iPad ? Or at least something like it ? “

The short answer is that you can’t port over the old programs but it is better to start fresh with code written for the Apple devices that takes advantage of all the new features that are now offered in these much faster devices that are built on an operating system that can be easily moved from iPhone to iPad to Macbook with syncing of data via the web of services such as iCloud.
